How ITI’s commitment to hands-on learning and development helped Peter take the next step.
At ITI Engineering, employee growth is driven by opportunity, trust, and a commitment to developing talent from within.
Peter Kopp joined ITI with a strong IT background and quickly became a key contributor supporting the systems that enable our products. Over time, he expanded his impact well beyond traditional IT responsibilities, helping modernize infrastructure, supporting new facilities’ IT plans and installations, and contributing directly to manufacturing process development and product work instructions.
Through hands-on experience and continuous learning, Peter gained a deep understanding of ITI’s production environment and what it takes to deliver high-quality products reliably. Along the way, mentorship from company leaders helped shape both his technical expertise and leadership approach.
“Sharing what I learned with others strengthened my communication and people-management skills,” Peter said. “Those experiences helped me grow technically and operationally across the company.”
In addition to on-the-job learning, Peter completed an external leadership development program called Supervisor’s Toolbox, an opportunity provided by ITI as part of its investment in employee development. The program focused on building strong, day-to-day people leadership skills, emphasizing clear communication, setting expectations, coaching, giving and receiving feedback, navigating difficult conversations, and creating accountability in a respectful way. The experience helped Peter become more intentional in how he supports his team, listens to concerns, and addresses issues early and constructively.
Today, as Engineering Manager, Peter leads a talented team supporting Independent Research and Development (IRAD) initiatives, customer builds, and daily production operations. He leads with clear expectations, productive communication, and a balanced approach to support and accountability, playing a critical role in ITI’s continued success.
Peter’s journey reflects our investment in people: creating pathways for employees to grow, contribute, and lead through experience, mentorship, and commitment to learning.
